Change is Motivating This Holiday Season
The other night I found myself watching “Stripped”, a new show on Bravo. It’s more than a show about stripping participants of their clothes, personal possessions and excesses. It’s an opportunity for participants to reflect on themselves, their life direction, their loved ones and, generally, what really matters. Participants are given 21 days to figure this out and to make changes. What a great concept!!
Obviously, the rest of us don’t have to get stripped to come to this revelation. Any significant break that allows us time to stop, reflect and evaluate our priorities or what we want in life is a good thing. I started my journey a little over two-(2) years ago when I started my home staging business. While it’s been challenging, I love how it’s changed me. I’ve grown. I’m stronger for it. I give back. Overall, I’m more in touch with what truly matters. What a great feeling! I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
You owe it to yourself to find your happy place. I challenge you this holiday season to get your answers. Look around you to identify your excesses then, get rid of them, keeping only what matters. Second, remove any fear or limitations that might hold you back, that allow you to doubt your abilities or to think small. This exercise broadens your thinking and opens up a whole new world of opportunities. Finally, realize that you don’t need much to lead a simpler, happier life.
So, go ahead. Strip back the layers this holiday season to find your happy place.
